Westlake has reached a new milestone, with the opening of facilities for students to work and learn.
Thanks to hard work and kind donations in the run up to Christmas, Westlake now has a temporary classroom with heat, light and hygiene amenities.
This enables students from Reaseheath College to become more involved with the project as part of their countryside and animal management studies and will see them building fencing and shelters for animals such as chickens, rabbits, alpacas, donkeys and goats.
Other students will work on the horticulture side of the project, constructing a kitchen garden, polytunnel and planting orchards and other crops.
Westlake co-owner David Haycocks said: “Things are really speeding up now and having the facilities in place for the students to be able to comfortably study and work here brings us much closer to our official launch date.”
We will be explaining more about Reaseheath College’s involvement and the latest organisations who have stepped in to help us over the next couple of weeks – so watch this space!
